FAQ
Dedicated servers, explained.
The questions to settle before you pick a server.
How support worksWhat is a dedicated server?
A physical server rented to a single customer. All of its CPU cores, memory, drives and its network port are yours alone, with full root access and out-of-band IPMI/KVM management. Unlike a VPS, nothing is shared with other customers’ workloads.
Dedicated server or VPS: which do I need?
A VPS is a slice of a shared machine: cheaper to start, but CPU, disk and network performance depend on your neighbours. Choose a dedicated server when you need guaranteed performance, lots of RAM or storage, high sustained bandwidth, or full control over the OS, RAID and hypervisor.
What is AMD EPYC 9005 “Turin”?
AMD’s fifth generation of EPYC server processors, launched on 10 October 2024 and built on Zen 5 cores. Each processor has 12 channels of DDR5 memory, 128 lanes of PCIe 5.0 and supports AVX-512. Every LowCostDedi server uses one or two of them.
Single or dual socket?
Single-socket servers (D32 to D128) keep every core and all memory on one processor: simpler to tune and lower memory latency. Dual-socket servers (D192 and D256) double the cores, memory channels and L3 cache for highly parallel jobs and very large virtualization hosts.
Which operating systems can I install?
Ubuntu 26.04 or 24.04 LTS, Debian 13, Rocky Linux 10, AlmaLinux 10, Proxmox VE 9 or Windows Server 2025 with your own licence — installed automatically when you deploy. You can also boot any ISO through IPMI.
Can I move to a bigger server later?
Yes. With an active server, open an “Upgrade” ticket from your client area: moving to a bigger plan is handled by our team in a scheduled migration window. Extra IPv4 addresses are available on request the same way.
Do prices include VAT?
Prices are in US dollars and exclude VAT or sales tax where it applies. Billing is monthly from your account balance, with no contract and no setup fee.
How fast is a server delivered?
In under 5 minutes once it’s paid. If a server isn’t delivered within 24 hours, you get a full refund.
